Jun_18 Onward . . .

Often my art reflects my inner journey. I have been in a process of embracing stillness and moving away from doing and achieving. I come from a family of accomplished 'doers' and have very little in the way of role modelling the state of ‘being’ as something worth striving for.

I've been choosing spending time on the porch, looking out at the garden and the world passing by. I'm choosing stillness whenever possible. So this painting, called "Stillness" completed in May is my first conscious exploration of this topic. It’s 20” W x16” L.

This painting, completed in August 2016 is called Tranquility. Although it's only 16 inches in diameter, this painting feels more significant than it's size. It feels like my growth in the last few months towards 'being' instead of 'doing' is captured in this painting. That’s what makes it so special to me.
